McClintock's Old Irish and Highland Dress
While I was in Gent(Belgium) for the last 10 days, a girl in the hotel(who knew of my interest in kilts) lent me a copy of a book fro m the Gent University which she thought I would like to see.
I was delighted with it and just wish that copy was mine!
She had a copy of McClintock's Old Irish and Highland Dress, well not any copy , it was an autographed copy by the author with thanks for the use of the university's images.
I took a picture of the fly leaf, and can't help but want to share it!

Wonderful! That volume is one of the most well researched forays into historical Highland clothing that one will find out there. Despite the fact that it is over 50 years old now, it has not been surpassed. The museum has an original copy in our library. I own a reprint that Scotpress did in the 1990s (if I recall correctly). Scotpress still offers the title, but now as a CD-ROM only. We stock it in the museum gift shop if anyone is interested.

Yes it's a fantastic book.
My copy is the 1949 Second Edition, printed in 1950.
