I believe this may be incorrect as my brother has a MacDonald box pleat from his time associated with this regiment, now enfolded into the NS Highlanders. I believe it is referred to as the 2nd Battalion, but I've been wrong before.

    Nice post though, Terry. ty.

Found the following on the Cape Breton Highlanders Association website in their history section. I hope it clears it up

    The Cape Breton Highlanders
    1920 to 1954
Tartan: Sutherland (Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders)
    (Black Watch)
    Motto: Siol Na Fear Fearail
    (Breed of Manly Men)
    March Pass: The Highland Laddie

2nd Bn Nova Scotia Highlanders (Cape Breton)
    1954 to Present
    Tartan: MacDonald, Clan Donald
    Motto: Siol Na Fear Fearail
    (Breed of Manly Men)
    March Pass: The Highland Laddie
