I have a light practice on Saturday then first competition on Sunday. I hope to have atleast one new PR to report.
66 feet in your first workout with the 16 pound hammer...nothing wrong with that! I've got guys who've been working for a month, and they're just getting into the 60's, now. 37 feet in the LWFD....good stuff. I spent my whole first season right about there, and then my second season knocking on the door of 40, but not quite getting in.

Rip it up at your first Games and HAVE FUN!

    Ok I'm up...

Yesterday early morning 3:30 am we left Bath Maine heading for our first games of the season. Got to Bere Vermont around 9am, unloaded geared up and ready to compete by 10.

I got some great advice from some real great guys. Had a blast and got to throw some heavy things around.

I now have some official NASGA numbers on the board.

Competed in AMB class came in second in class.
23.4lb Braemar stone 21'8" nearly 2ft more then in practice
    16.5lb open stone 23'11"
    HWFD 19'4"
    LWFD 38'6"
    Heavy Hammer 42'
    Light Hammer 54'8"
    Caber 17'x100lb 40degrees.

Caber I had never even picked one this big in practice. I was able to flip the entry caber to compete but this caber kicked my but. Last attempt I was too stubborn when I started to lose it tried to fight it and ended up with the caber coming down on me. No real dmg just a bruised bicep and I sat out for sheaf. I did compete in WOB but the lowest setting they had was 10'6" and well that just wasn't happening for me that day.
