Oh, well. Come on by, Jock. I'll pop for two drinks; any brand you fancy.
Jim consider all debts paid in full. We have had a bit of gentle fun and one of us was bound to be right. And er, well, um, I did have a bit of an advantage! Have fun having fun my friend.

I believe the joke he was making was simply that there is no voting involved in choosing a Duke.

That would explain why it wasn't funny.

I don't know how far south of West Point Bigkahuna is, but here in the South a comment like that is always a joke, and as much of one on the commenter as the situation. There is never any malice intended, merely a mild and lighthearted expression of disagreement over some position or whatever. In the context, I believe Bigkahuna's intent was to show some disappointment over HRH not wearing a kilt, and show that feeling in a light way with no disrespect intended or implied.

That's cold. and JSFMACLJR please review Monty Python and the Holy Grail again and lighten up. I meant no disrespect to anyone, nor have I ever in any of my posts. I will say nothing at all if it comes to that.

Where were you in '62
I guess I am going to show my age a little. I was a very, very, very young boy when the song "Duke of Earl" hit the top of the music charts in 1962. Gene Chandler sang, and became known as, the "Duke of Earl". The song has been referred to, used, and parodied so may times over the years, I guess a lot of people don't know about its origins.
I assume it was merely a play on words and that nothing demeaning was intended.
And so I sing with lyric lilt,--
How happier the world would be
If every male would wear a kilt!
Robert Service
