So I saw this in my NetFlix recommended area and watched it today. Umm....Seemed almost like film noir, or an early Lucas or Depalma movie when they were first starting fresh out of film school. Basically a war correspondents view on the whole ordeal, with interviews of parties from both sides. Basically a movie about a complete disaster and failure of the Highland army. Costumes look pretty close (Except the modern drums used-Should have used rope tension). Really artsy camera use (shaky cam, first person, etc.). All-in-all worth the view, but it ain't no romantic ideal of Highlanders.

You're right--it gives a real depiction of the battle. NOT Romanticized. As much as I love Romanticized history, we must never remember how things really happened, no matter how embarrassing it may be.
