Indeed.
As my own father is going thru chemo right now (and I'm happy to report is doing fairly well ) Hamish is never far in my thoughts & prayers.

Bobbie, thank you for the update. I was just thinking about him the other day. We are still keeping Hamish in our prayers.

Thank you all so very much for your worries and concern. I am still not myself and, although I finished the chemo and radiotherapy a couple of weeks ago, I am constantly feeling lethargic, washed out and absolutely without interest in anything much. Other 'inconveniences' mean that I dare not stray far from the house - in fact, I have not left the Bicknell Grange estate since receiving my last zapping at the Sussex Cancer Centre in Brighton. Fortunately, my good pal Jim has been here taking good care of me - otherwise, living alone (apart from the security staff, of course), I simply could not have managed and do not know what I would have done. The next step will be a summons to report for more scans to be taken. My surgeon will study these to see if the treatments have worked and will then (if they have) arrange for the surgery appointment to be made. Two weeks in hospital followed by another two or three in a Convalescent Home by the sea will then follow.
One thing that has given me a lift today is the splendid news that Rocky has received my new and very exclisive Centennial tartan from Dalgleish in Scotland and has already forwarded it to Barb Tewksbury who will work her magic on it. This is the best news I have had in weeks!
Your kind and loving thoughts, letters and messages have been so much appreciated and have done much to help me through the past few months - thank you all once again.
Take care,
Ham.

Hamish ol' chap. Sorry to hear you are still feeling a little peaky but good news that phase one is complete. Take it slowly, there's no rush.
Best wishes from both of us

Hamish, it is truly wonderful to hear from you!
Rest up, and continue on the path to full recovery.
Before you know it you'll be stepping out in your new 'Tewksbury' (& making us all green with envy ).
All my best,
Terry

I'm too new here to have really enjoyed your presence on the forum, but it's obvious from even the most cursory glance that you are a much loved fixture on this board.
Stay clear, feel stronger, and come back soon.
BTW: when a friend of my wife's was going through a similar situation, he SWORE by mildly flavoured guacamole' (or even just chunked avocado). High fat content (eat a little, get a lot of good calories), full o' vitamins, and still relatively plain in flavour. He said it did him a world of good.
