    Slightly Miffed

Has anyone else experienced problems with the Scottish Tartans Authority website? Every tartan that I try to enter in to the "Ferrett", whether it be a rare, or common tartan, comes up with "Invalid Search". It's done this to me for 3 days now! Certainly NOT what I'm used to when it comes the the STA.

It's working now, for me at least.

    xman to the rescue

Don't use the false Search option in the title bar!

On the Home page, click on the little wiggling red ferret on the left. A new page entitled Tartan Ferret will come up with many search parameters for you to enter in the centre of the page below the title bar.

Hope that helps. That's how it works for me.

Thanks guys. I was actually using the "Ferrett" the first attempt at the page. Tried it again using some of the different search options & still coming up "Invalid Search". Oh well I guess.

Sounds like a browser or OS problem.

I use Firefox on Ubuntu and have no problems there at all. Perhaps the problem is the snake-oil malarkey Microsoft software on one end or both. Amazing how a guy(initials BG) became rich beyond comprehension selling stuff that doesn't work, but Linux is both cost and trouble free. Oh, and almost all malware and viruses have no effect on it and it networks with ANYTHING, including a cell phone that Samsung swears can't upload or download its contents even though I use it as a camera, sound recorder, and mix my own ringtones for it. Did I mention it's free?(Yes, I hate Microsoft...junk.) Ditch it and get Ubuntu...you'll never look back. My mother is 71 and finds it easier than Winders since it has answers beyond "download more junk since last weeks junk doesn't work and this new junk won't really work either even though we say it's better but it's just prettier and bogs down any system while it starts 80000000 background operations that aren't needed and eat up all your RAM." While typing this I had music playing, was downloading two programs, had three browsers running(two had animation, one weather radar the other a flash game, and this one for XMTS) and have a chess game going on. I have 1GB of RAM and a 1.2GB processor and it hasn't slowed down. Windows would have crashed on a better machine.

    Okay, I'm off the soapbox.

So check your browser configuration. Latest version? All the stuff you need enabled? Need to download more stuff?

    Hi Zach,

As the Tartan Ferret's keeper I'm used to his funny ittle ways. He likes you to click on 'Find' instead of hitting the Return key and then he'll be putty in your hands.
