Google really freaks me out. The sheer volume of information they are collecting, and how ethically questionable the nature of some their collecting is, has caused me to decide NEVER to use Chrome, and to look for a new search engine as my go-to.

Apparently as they were toottling around taking pictures they also picked up information on our wifi connections, for which they were told off about here in the UK -

Erm, it's 1314, not 1341. There is no picture for 1341 (at least in the version I'm looking at).
Pretty cool.

I guess this is why it is always a good thing to password your wireless. I am sure they can get past passwords, but probably not fast enough to do it as they drive down the street.
Interestig also that as the google car is moving and so was steve, that if you try and move up closer you loose sight of him. You have to zoom in when you see him to get a better view.
I have also been on forums where they show buildings that were on fire the day Google drove past. It is kind of interesting what comes up when photography happens like this. Where I work we use a map that has aerial photography of our who city. When showing this map to some students on a tour, I looked at two buildings and was able to figure out exactly where I was and what I was doing the day the planes flew over.

Erm, it's 1314, not 1341.
That explains why I could not see Steve when I first looked up the address.
Absolutely fascinating. The mind boggles at the information which is out there on the net. I have still not worked out where the cyclist disappeared to. By the time the Google vehicle approaches the blue van and Steve disappears behind the blue van the cyclist has also disappeared from the road. Yet the google vehicle could not have overtaken the cyclist as he was already almost alongside the van in the earlier view.
