Just to be clear, this is not MY list, it's all pulled from previous posts, that's why I said "stuff YOU GUYS find intolerable" !

Other than I don't really think folks should wear their renfaire garb to outside cultural events, and LARPers should not go out in public at all,
I don't agree with any of it, and I am Irish.

While I do dislike the stupid, fake accents, I have a confession.

I am a LARPer. I'd never dream of wearing my costume outside of my game, but I love to LARP.

Good for you! I did a bit of that when I was a little younger, myself. It's one of the things that got me interested in martial arts.

Thank God, whenever anyone starts a confession I'm in dire fear they'll be a furry.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

    Or both!

EDIT: Sorry the picture is tiny. Some kind of posting flub. But look hard to starboard.

Quite honestly, I would be super stoked if I saw these people at the games. That takes dedication and some serious wherewithal. Nothing proves to be the exception to the rule like going all the way and these people are ridiculous so hard that that they bypassed awkward and went straight to amazing.

Wait, so no Toga's? What kind of Scottish festival would that make for?

Cosplat is another word, like Ren Faire, made up by people who can pronounce all the sylabels in Costume Play. I suppose they maybe think they are going to a Sco Fest and don't realize it has anything to do with Scotland.

Although the STM sells a T-Shirt that bridges the gap, it says "All your kilt are belong to us" and I admit, I have thought about getting one.

And I am not sure I want THAT kind of statement intruding on mundane life, let alone a Scottish Festival.

I get told I have enough of an accent (not Scottish) already, and I'm from Connecticut, why would I want to fake someone else's accent?

Well in true Highland fashion, most of them would be hunted either as varmint or food. So let the games begin!
