I'm always leery of bespoke anything. It was a major leap of faith for me to commit to buying a custom kilt from Lady Chrystel.
I'm not leery because of the money. While I'm hesitant to spend a lot of money on clothes, I absolutely do understand the concept of top quality costs top dollar. No problem. No, what gives me pause is that my body changes shape pretty often.
Right now, relatively speaking, I'm huge. It's from all the weight lifting and throwing. The jacket that I altered three years ago and was moderately roomy at that time, barely fits me now. If I bought a jacket now that fit, I would probably swim in it in five years time when I've retired from throwing.
But that's just me. If you have a pretty "steady" body form, then you can count on wearing that jacket for a decade or two, and then it's absolutely worth the investment.

I can understand the concern with bespoke. I am losing weight at the moment and hopefully I will keep it off. I just cannot justify spending 350 pounds for a jacket that I have never seen, don't totally know the quality of the fabric or if it does actually fit me. So, obviously depending on cost, I have decided to venture into bespoke. Even if it does cost a little more it will fit me better than anything else and be a great incentive not to stop working out. haha
