Sunday was a "pretty good day", I'd say. One of the two lads that I've been working with went out and bettered every single mark they posted at the Woodland Games a month ago. The other had his first Games and came out on the track with a roar. Wives, daughters and friends were in attendance and it's clear that everybody thinks they're studs!Life is good!
I had a mixed Games, which is going to sound pretty bizarre since I set three PR's!
Out of *Nowhere* I set a PR in the heavy weight for distance, going 28' 11" and wee bit more. I set a new PR in the Braemar Stone by going over 26 feet for the first time, ever. But the BIG news is that I finally..FINALLY... after four years of trying, broke 30 feet in the Open Stone. My first toss went 30' 3", and my 3rd toss scored me a 31' 4". FINALLY!... I'm respectable.
Hammers were consistent if not inspiring and I went 18 in the sheaf....not bad for someone who never practices!
