No, unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to do that. Jon and I usually just go with the flow and do whatever the rest of the family is doing when we are on vacation, and they had other plans. We figure as long as we are on vacation it doesn't matter what else we are doing Hopefully we'll get another opportunity some day.
As far as feeling cooped up goes, I haven't ever felt that way on a cruise, they are generally pretty good about stopping at the various ports often enough, and there's always an option to be in open air. I highly recommend going on one if you can avoid the majority of the silliness that is a natural part of cruises
