I would like to "put in" for my kilt maker Doreen Browning at Kiltmaker's Apprentice in Highland, NY. The following link is to their price page:

I have been happy with all my dealings with both Bob and Doreen.

Question Hand sewn Heritage of Scotland

I notice you make reference to a Heritage of Scotland Hand sewn kilt.
I've checked with them, and they only do machined kilts

Regarding the utility of this list: Seems to me that this takes much of the work out of one of several aspects of comparison shopping: the rough cost comparison. From here a user can target those shops that appear to fit the range of their budget. Often cost comparisons between shops can be one of the more onerous tasks, as many shopping systems seem to intentionally make it difficult to easily compare prices with their competition. A list like this does the heavy lifting in that regard and leaves behind what I consider the more interesting and engaging parts: determining the best value within the budget.

I think this was very nice of the OP and it will be a loss to the community if and when this list is no longer updated.

This conversation is exactly like the personal discussion I've been having in my own head for the last few months. Well done all and thanks Brice.

This is a quote from their OWN website for their Luxury 8 yard Kilt:

"Our premium quality eight yard kilts are made to measure, hand-made by highly experienced kiltmakers."

I understood hand-made to be hand sewn. If I am incorrect and they are machine sewn, then I will happily change it. For know, I will put 'hand made' in the info next to their name. However, that seems a little misleading. Maybe it is just me.
