Itunes - Skerryvore

The kilted celtic 'boy band' Skerryvore (originally from Tiree) have launched their latest album which is now available for download on itunes and also from their website.

To quote The Herald "Blazing bagpipes, fearsome fiddle and aggresive accordion electrically fused with funky rhythms and soul-gripping songs, Skerryvore are the ultimate 21st century Celtic Rock Band"

I attended the launch of the album at O2 ABC Glasgow on 1st July and with a press pass took a number of photographs. Here are a few but the rest are available for viewing on my 2010 Skerryvore Gallery











I also caught Skerryvore at the Cowal Gathering last year (2009). The Games introduced a Music Tent recently and Skerryvore played to a packed appreciative crowd. A flavour of the event can be viewed here.

I hope members find this to be of interest - kilting is alive and well in Scotland.

I'm going to see them on August 1st at the Loch Lomond Folk Festival in Balloch and I'm looking forward to seeing them.
the Glasgow Evening Times done a feature on them last week calling them 'the boy band of folk'
Certainly they are making quite a name for themselves now with bookings throughout the world
