My Kilted Independence Day Weekend
For the 4th of July, the family and I spent the weekend at my parents house and attended a picnic with both sides of the family on Saturday and Sunday respectively. I decided to spend the entire weekend kilted. It was a bit warm (high 80s-low 90s and somewhat humid), so I think I will look at getting a kilt with less yardage and/or made of PV at some point...but all in all it wasn't too bad. I know if there's no pics, then it didn't happen, so here are a couple of pics of the first day....my apologies, but I forgot to take any pics yesterday.

An action shot....kilts and beer go together, right?

Nice! I couldn't get any pics because it was raining too hard and my camera would have gotten ruined!

Just the right gear for the occasion! What tartan were you wearing?
And I notice that one of the ladies in the family (she was obscured) was wearing a pink outfit (skirt or dress) in a tartan-like pattern.

Tartan...
It's the only kilt I own at present...and it's a Young Tartan. It is a very attractive tartan...and happens to be my Army Branch colors...Green, Yellow, and Purple...with a touch of light blue thrown in!
The girl in the pink is my baby girl and she's wearing some very lightweight sundress from Kohl's. But you are correct, it is woven somewhat tartan-like.
