I recall a discussion here on the forum that went along the lines of the Windsor being the only correct or proper way to tie one's tie. 
I think the Pratt comes out a little smaller than the Half Windsor, so might work out well with the button down collars that have the narrower opening, and in place of a Four-In-Hand knot; might be wrong though.
A lot of my favorite ties are of thick material, and a Windsor would not work with them
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
