From their website:
BiPB wears the regimental tartan of the Gordon Highlanders (original tartan of the Bermuda Cadets Pipe Band) and white tropical military doublets. This uniform, although not completely historically accurate, closely approximates what a British highland regiment pipe or military band (and related Imperial or Commonwealth units), such as the Gordon Highlanders, would have worn whilst deployed or garrisoned in a tropical environment (ie Bermuda, West Indies, India, Afghanistan, and/or Hong Kong). The drummers wear grey hackle feathers, presented to the Cadets Pipe Band in 1965 by the Inniskilling Fusiliers, whilst on emergency deployment to the island. Under the kilt pins is a flash of Prince Charles Edward Stuart tartan, to honour the tartan worn by the Bermuda Pipe Band. For several years after the amalgamation, the band wore both tartans: the pipers wearing the Prince Charlie and drummers in the Gordon.

DFL = Didn't Finish Last = Congratulations, well done.
or
DFL = Did Finish Last = Well done on completing the course.
Unfortunately, in sailing DFL is usually expressed as Dead (expletive deleted) Last!
