Kilt Hangers

I am beginning to acquire a few kilts, and thus far have gotten by with regular clip type garment hangers. I now have a 16oz X 8yrd wool kilt and need specialized equipment. Does anyone have any feedback on the bar type hangers that are sold by Stillwater Kilts? In concept, I like the uniform pressure applied to the kilt with the bars vs. clip type hangers, but have no real experience to support that.

I don't have the storage space for a cedar chest or other folded solution.

I personally like the gigantic wooden hangers I get at Target. One for the front apron, one for the pleats. They're wide enough that only a little kilt overhangs each side.

The bummer is that they come in a 3 pack so you end up buying odd numbers sometimes (must have the same deal as the hot dog makers / bun people)

I bought about a dozen of the extra wide hangers from Stillwater Kilts and highly recommend them. All of my kilts are on one, now. My only gripe is that the kilt buckles get in the way. That's a function of where they are on the kilt, though, and not the hanger.

I like the longer ones from Stillwater, but they don't always have them in stock. Their regular ones are too short for my kilts' widths.

Not only does it work, but it means that the kilt is more compact and will fit in a standard wardrobe.

There is really no need to buy new or special hangers for your kilt.

Here in my shop we take down and hang up kilts all day long. One day we stumbled on a way to hang a kilt that works really well.

And the great part is that we were using hangers that we got for free at a department store.

Any good pant or skirt hanger will work. The secret is how you hang the kilt. I wrote an article a few years ago and posted it in the care and maintenance section of the forum.

I really like those hangers from SWK. I, too, have used the less expensive hangers like Steve shows in the aforementioned discussion, but I am lazy. The wooden ones seem simpler, easier, and more sure to me. All my kilts are on similar hangers and soon, all will be on exactly the same hangers.
