    Jan Crook

This may seem an exceedingly ignorant question, but having frequently come across notes attributing tartan designs to Jan Crook, I did a Google search and came up with nothing particularly useful besides a vague reference to a book called Irish Tartans by Jan Crook, published in 1990.
Further searches came up with no more useful information on the book or the author.
I would be interested in learning more about this tartan expert, where he/she is based, and what kinds of tartans Crook has devised.
    Regards,
    Mike

She is an American hand-weaver, and apparently still living as of March 2009. See this newsletter, page 14. http://www.nwahandweaversguild.com/n...March%2009.pdf

Hi, Lyle – that PDF was a bit of a problem to load, hence my delay in responding (probably inadequate bandwidth here at the bottom end of Africa), but the article itself was of great interest to me.
The connection between weaving and computers ought to be obvious, and better known, but Jan Crook’s article was certainly enlightening.
    Regards,
    Mike
