Hi, Kiltmaker – here are a few for you to consider:
The Joker: in purple and turquoise. It comes from the trousers worn by Jack Nicholson when he played the Joker in a Batman movie.
Tartan Tangerine: very loud in orange and mauve.
VW Orange: orange, black and green, from car upholstery.
Lady Boys of Bangkok: lilac, pale tan and brownish orange.
The rainbow tartan featured on the Scotweb page is actually called Rainbow #2, and is quite a bit brighter than the so-called Tartan of Pride. It is also similar to a family sett named Watret (perhaps a good reason to avoid). Oddly, while Scotweb features Rainbow #2 on one of its pages, the tartan definition given on the left is in fact that of the Pride sett.
Also quite loud is Brigadoon, while Shrek might be more appealling.
These might be more appealing for the purpose you have in mind than a rainbow sett. They could also give you a wider range of ideas when looking at more readily available (and cheaper) trade designs.
Regards,
Mike
