    Scotweb can get almost any tartan in silk. IIRC it's about 100 quid the yard, single width.

    I'd be more inclined to some of the light cotton fabrics, I believe!

    I personally agree. I think light cotton or a good linen are better than silk. Plus, both launder a LOT easier, which is a concern whilst away on holiday. It's nice to be able to rinse it in your hotel sink if it gets too sweaty or dirty.
