Welcome to the forum from about 35 miles or so southwest of you. Hope to meet you at Williamsburg or The Meadows games in October. The Virginia rabble usually meets up at both events.

Ceud měle fŕilte! from Exit 126, I-95.
As my fellow Virginia Rabble have said, hope you can make the VA games coming up. The first is the VA Games Labor Day Weekend held in The Plains. The first weekend in October is the Williamsburg Games in Lenexa, a little south of you. The fourth weekend in October is the The Meadow Games besides Kings Dominion. Be on the look out for the upcoming threads on them announcing meet up dates and times.

Hi, MacSaorsa, and welcome to XMTS from the bottom end of Africa.
Your handle suggests that your surname is either Irish or Scottish, although you do mention Welsh as well.
What tartan do you have your eye on?
Regards,
Mike

You'll find it is hard hard to have just one kilt, and there are a lot of options to be found here on XMarks, discussed in depth.
From very traditional kilts that wouldn't be out of place at the most formal of dinners with the Queen to the kind of kilts you could go cat-fishing in, change the oil in your car and not blink twice.
Welcome to the rabble from Akron, Ohio.

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone.
I hope to be able to make at least one of the events this year. I used to go to the Highland Games at the fairgrounds, but haven't made it for the past few years. The Williamsburg festival looks good, I'll definitely try to make that one.
Mike, my surname is the fairly generic Brown, but I've traced it back to the Argyll area, which means MacMillan for me. For now I'm leaning toward the USAK Casual in the Scottish National tartan as my first purchase. As funds allow I'll almost certainly be adding a wool kilt in MacMillan Hunting.

The Richmond Games, which was held at the fairgrounds, moved last year up near Old Dominion (same exit, just keep going down thre road about another mile). The Williamsburg Festival has also moved - a bit closer to Richmond at least. Hope to see you at one or the other, perhaps both.
We have a tradition where the Rabble gather at or near the pub or entertainment tent and get our picture taken together.
