Here in Glasgow resting and waiting to go out to dinner, probably just Alex and I as we haven't raised much of a stir about town or the forum yet.
Off to Turnberry tomorrow afternoon for one night, then two nights in Prestwick.
I now have a UK phone number for a mobile for the remainder of the trip---
075723 06285. Call if you think you might be able to get together in Turnberry, Prestwick, or St Andrews during the trip.

Thanks Alex for posting the pictures you took, since I forgot to get my camera out of the bag before we went out on the town. And thank you very much again for acting as host and guide and taxi on my arrival Friday. Although we were cyberfriends before I know we will remain fast friends now for a long time.
Got To Turnberry Saturday afternoon wearing my Ancient Douglas and played a couple times around the pitch and putt then had a putting competition with my partners who had just arrived.
Upon arrival, checking out the grounds
Turnberry Hotel
After the pitch and putt, longing for some single malt refreshment.
Played Turnberry Sunday kilted in IOS with navy hose and top-----played poorly but got plenty of compliments from golfers, guests, caddies, and hotel staff alike.
Playing out of Hell's Bunker
FM with his unkilted (but envious) friends in front of Turnberry lighthouse
FM bashing one down the fairway
Moved to Prestwick last eve then went to play Royal Troon just north of there this morning, wearing my Ancient Red Douglas in all its spendor. Refused play because of the kilt----see separate post about Kilted Golfer DENIED Play at Royal Troon. Raced back to the hotel to switch into pants but played poorly on the front because I was, to say the least, a bit angry, but finished well, albeit wet and ugly wearing trousers. Here is what I was wearing when I was denied play:
Except for maybe the flatcap, nothing wrong here with my dress to keep me off the course. And, besides, a flatcap is appropriate for golfing anyway.
Off to Muirfield tomorrow, to see if I get grief for being kilted for golf there.
