    - a Kingussie kilt, on the wish list since I saw the Muirhead kilt at the Scottish Tartans Museum (already ordered from Keltoi Gaelic Clothing, HoE's muted Stewart hunting)
    - a box-pleated kilt (already ordered from Keltoi Gaelic Clothing, Graham of Montrose ancient)
    - a brown leather hunting sporran inspired by HRH Prince Charles' sporran with matching strap and belt (already ordered from Artificer - No. 9 is mine! All mine!)
    - a Ryan Ross bonnet or two, trying to decide what color(s)
    - more fancy hose from Skye Highland Outfitters, 4 color Argyll to match the Stewart and some diced in colors yet to be determined
    - matched sgian dubh and sgian brew, carved from a branch of a flying rowan from Wales (I have the branch... I just have to talk my dad into doing the carving) (I also have another piece of rowan from near Loch Ness.)
    - a navy barathea Argyll jacket
    - a tweed Wallace jacket
    .

    .

I'd also really like to get my hands on some Canadian beaver.
    For a sporran, of course.

Thanks to this thread, I've decided I must have a Ferguson Britt sporran, in natural beaver, though the above does remind me of this article from Science Blog.

Also thanks to this thread, I absolutely must get a Harris Tweed kilt jacket & vest, in this color.

Ordered both just this morning from the Scottish Tartans Museum gift shop.

On a more casual note, 2 new Stillwater standard kilts arrived yesterday: One in Nightstalker (have one already, it's the one I'm wearing in my Facebook avatar pic) and one in Leatherneck (I was an enlisted Marine before I fell to the Dark Side and got an Army commission).

Congratulations on your tweed jacket/waistcoat, and new kilts. Hope you get the sporran you want.

I'm skeptical of that Science Blog article because it is suggesting that the cultures, here and now, being studied can be used to make assumptions about ancient human ancestors. It also has wording that could lead one to think that "species selection" is being discussed. As far as I know both concepts are not looked upon so favorably by the scientific and archeological communities.

I could be wrong in that, or just misreading the article, though.

    * It also does not seem to account for longevity resulting from the unique effects of the nature of human culture and family care; not sure that was what Hamilton was studying in the first place.

Will do! Looking at up to a month for delivery, as neither it nor the Harris Tweed jacket/waistcoat are in current stock.

Yes indeed those very things are tops on my list, a Ferguson Britt sporran and a check tweed kilt jacket.
