Well, in South Africa that would make you a radiographer. I know several women who do that job, including my minister’s wife.
A doctor who specialises in X-ray work is called a radiologist – not sure if they use the same term in the US.
A great-aunt of mine married an Englishman who was the first radiologist to practice in South Africa.
