Thanks to Robert and Chrystel for posting the picture. {my computer's security system doesn't like this site for some reason} The close-up is one of my original issue Canada Post hat badges, dating from the mid 1970s. I still use the other one, being one of handful of lettercarriers in Vancouver who still regularly wear the old military style peak cap.
The little building behind me is a tool shed at a community garden, built from cob--straw, clay and sand--a building method many centuries old.
EPITAPH: Decades from now, no one will know what my bank balance looked like, it won't matter to anyone what kind of car I drove, nor will anyone care what sort of house I lived in. But the world will be a different place, because I did something so mind bafflingly eccentric that my ruins have become a tourist attraction.

Congratulations, Steve. That is one handsome kilt, and the postal badge looks good on it.
And well done, Chrystel, on yet another masterpiece.
Who wove the cloth, by the way?
Regards,
Mike

Indeed. It has been quite the journey.
So far I've had two individuals by the surname Stephen contact me [ie, ones that aren't directly related] and some Mathiesons as well. They have been politely curious, but not particularly interested in wearing a kilt. However, if anyone is looking for yardage there may be enough left for another kilt and a bit more.
