    hose question

It may be the wrong place. searching hose here didn't bring any posts up so if it is the wrong place can someone direct me to the right one.
My question is I am getting ready to buy hose for my kilt. My problem seems to be that although my footsize is 9 1/2 wide my calves are 19 inches wide so the medium ( 9-11) hoses I looked at today didn't want to go around the calf and the larger hose (11 +) which fit beter were to long on the foot. Are there medium hoses for big calfed guys or a way to stretch mediums to fit around bigger calves.

I have big feet with enormous calves- 11.5 x 22. I find that the Lewis Rich line from the Scottish Tartans Museum work perfectly. They stretch just right.

    thanks

I enjoy your quote about growing old. It not quite the same thing but I have always said some day I want to learn to play the bag pipe so I can be a really annoying old man. My children probably think I've already accomplished that with out the pipes but with the pipes it would certainly be louder.

Here is a link to the hose Nighthawk was talking about.
    http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/hose_lewis.htm

They are called Lewis Hose and you will want to be sure to order the "Fully Fashioned" version at the bottom of the page, for $58.

These are made especially for those with larger calves for a comfortable fit. Generally these require custom ordering, however, we usually have a selection in stock, so if you email or call the gift shop and let them know your size, they can tell you what colors we have available for immediate shipment. Just be sure to specify the Fully Fashioned Lewis hose.

I can fully recommend the hose that Matthew mentions above.

My partner has large calves and they are so good and do not restrict.

Being made in Merino wool they are soft and have a tendency to wear on the heel and toe so I find that wearing a trainer sock under the hose is a good way of protecting them on these wear points.
