    Lightbulb Robert A. Heinlein biography

Not really kilt related, Lazurus Long notwithstanding, but I know we have quite a few Heinlein fans on the forum.
I want to let everyone know that the first part of William Patterson’s big 2-volume authorized RAH biography; "Robert A. Heinlein: In Dialogue with His Century: 1907-1948: Learning Curve" came out from TOR Books this week.

I got a copy a while ago, (it's who you know) and it's a very interesting read for the dedicated Heinlein fan.

I breezed through parts of my advance copy and would second Zardoz's comments... where we might have a difference of opinion is that I think the book has a far greater audience than just "the dedicated Heinlein fan." I can't wait for Vol II.

I'm a big RAH fan, looks like an interesting book. I'll have to see if our local book store has it, or can order it.

It's a powerful work that reveals a lot and shatters perceptions across the board. I've been following the discussions online and get a kick out of some of the responses. Bill Patterson has done a phenomenal job. Considering how polarized the various factions are concerning Heinlein, seeing the biography published is a major triumph.

RAH was a major influence on me as a child, through his novels for juveniles. He instilled conservative and libertarian values into a generation that, in the end, was largely lost to the Left and for delivering me out of that wilderness I am most grateful to him.

    Thanks for the book tip.
