Tristan belongs to my neighbor. All my horses are normal-size saddle horses, in the 14-to-15-hand range. Tristan is over 17 hands. I spent several years, though, working with Percherons and I've always loved them. They are the epitome of the "gentle giant". Tristan is for sale, and I've been trying to figure out a way to talk my wife into letting me bring him home. But I'd have to build a bigger stall in my barn for him, buy a bigger trailer (he physically won't fit in my straight-load horse trailer), and budget for the increased amount of feed he would need. So it's not likely to happen. But my neighbor will let me ride him any time I want, so I'll have to settle for that. He is a really cool guy.
Once we can afford them, the wife and I plan on getting a Perch...and she has some more unique breeds in mind (an Ahkal Teke, for example). I love Percherons, to me, they are best all around horse, and are amazing at Dressage. Never expect something so large to be able to float and dance....
