    What do you do....

About a month ago I ordered two new kilts from Rocky at USAK. I opted not to pay the extra for two week delivery, which I now regret. I know I'll be happy as a clam with what Rocky sends me, but the Jones is getting unbearable!!!! I almost started on another kilt of my own creation just to ease it.

So what do you guys do to relieve the anticipation? I've been doing a LOT of yard work...the heavy stuff such as a flagstone patio, retaining wall, elevated garden, duck enclosure, perimeter fence, etc.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

    Well, I stopped wearing kilts.

But when the stress starts gnawing at me, I often go sit under the citrus trees and look at the bonsai (in training). I might even take the knob cutters out there and do a little carving.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

    Or...

Use this time to buy other kilt items that don't have as long of a wait time .

Like a new pair of hose..... each week

MacMillan's Son has it. SHOP!! Order some more kilts - kilt hose - kilt pin for the kilt - whatever. Spread out your purchases so something is always dribbling in to medicate your jones.

Never paid for a rush from Rocky....the kilts show up. 'course you timed your purchase with his move....

    But SHOPPING is the answer.

Learn to knit! You'll have time to knit several pairs of hose during the wait, and in the beginning it does need a lot of concentration, which in turn makes time go faster. And then you'll have not only a bunch of new hose, but a second great addiction.

That's what I did, at least.

    Talking

I mark the calender when I make the order, then count out the weeks till the kilt is due and mark it again. Then I kind of forget about it! So then it's a pleasant surprise when the package shows up! (usually before it's due)

    Ohhh...

I was hoping the next line was "With a drunken sailor"

Seriously though, the wait is always the worst part. If you do consider taking up knitting you would be killing two birds with one stone.
    1) eating up your free time learning a new skill
    2) now you can knit your own kilt hose- AND save all that $$ spent buying them for more kilts to start waiting for again
