I've been attending the Ligonier Games for many, many years now. It's by far my favorite highland games festival. Located in the woods of Idewild park, in historic Ligonier Pennsylvania, it is a very appropriate, and beautiful spot for a festival. Anyone who knows their F&I history, knows that the 77th and 42nd Highland Units of the British army were at Fort Ligonier under General John Forbes in 1758. The ground has a magical energy to it! The spirits of the past certainly live on there! Anyone who hasn't attended the games there should definitely make the effort. Thanks for the pics!

Many years ago I was the a reenactment unit of the 77th and always got a thrill out of going to places where the original 77th had been. We would go to Fort Ligonier every year, and stop by when we did Bushy Run. The hotel we stayed at was only a block from the Fort so even though I didn't have time to visit it this time, I knew I was still on ground where the 77th had marched.
