Famous Grouse now has an all-malt vatted offering, 'bout $35-$40 as I recall, that I find really excellent.

I could not agree more with my learn-ed friend.

In my neck of the woods, quality/$, I rate The Glenlivet and Teacher's Highland Cream as best value for malt and blend, respectively. Of course, this is based on my taste preference and the pricing given us from the BCLDB.

Hello stranger, nice to see you back.
It has been a while, hasn't it? ;)

I must say, most enjoyable, and the best 10 year old I have ever had - clean, fruity and refreshing with little aftertaste. All things considered, it's my new favorite.
Thanks! I almost bought a bottle of Tamdhu the other day, but didn't, thinking "What if it's horrible?" Now, I'll go back and get it...!

It's not whisky, but should be consumed like it is:

I just picked up a bottle of Tamdhu an hour ago, for $28.99 at Beverages & More. Last bottle on the shelf, alas.

I'll second and third that, lovely Whisky.

My first choice for price in a malt is Glenmorangie Original, too, but for a blend Grants doesn't sit on the drinks tray and gather dust either. Yes, but I have a Bruichladdich Wave on my tongue at the moment and at GBP41 I am a very happy person
