We recently done a demo at The Boise, Idaho Highland Games.
Diane wrote a new dance for the demo. It's called 'Coming to Franklin' and is in honour of her Scottish ancestors who were some of the first non-natives to settle Idaho. They were tartan weavers from fife who settled the town of Franklin, Idaho.
The second dance we do, as you can hear from the intro, is 'The Luckenbooth Brooch' which is one of my favourites.
Some of the figures ended a little late and some of the dancers started a little late because the stage was terrible. It's was cracking, bouncy plywood that was incredibly slick.
None-the-less, we did a good job and the dance was a lot of fun.
Anyway, I thought I'd post this video my sister-in-law took for us. It was a fun time and while the video is grainy and from a distance, I think you'll get the general idea of the dance.
