Scotland County Games
The Scotland County (NC) Highland Games is this coming weekend, Oct 1-3 2010. This year I will be in charge of our clan tent. I most likely won't have a lot a help, so if any of the X-Markers are there, please drop by.
It is the MacLaine of Lochbuie Clan tent. (Not to be confused with the MacLeans of Duarte)!
Last year it was truly a success, and this year it promises to be even better.
for more details, the website is: www.schgnc.org
Hope to see you there

Sorry to be missing these games, but I have a conference to attend.
I recommend them to everyone, though... it's lovely location and the event was very well done last year.

Carloina Kiltman (Frank),
It's great to see a post from another Lochbuie Maclaine. I'm booked for that weekend but will be at the Lochbuie tent at the Stone Mountain Highland Games Oct. 16th and 17th. Hope to see you there.

I ran the MacRae tent last year and these were a great games. Unfortunately it clashes this year with another event that my wife is organizing so we are taking this year off. Hope to be there next year.

A buddy is going on Saturday and is bugging me to tag along. If I can get it worked out i'll be there, but lots of things to do between now and then. Heard they were nice games.

Just curious. How does a MacLean decide whether they are Duarte, Lochbuie, or MacLean of the North? Did MacLeans lose their Mac in the US or Elngland What if their name is Lean or Lane (after all, we have MacBean, Bean, McBain, Bennie, Vean, etc.)? The names are pronounced so similarly, that I've become interested in the variations. I've always assumed that David Lean, the director, was a MacLean.
