Hello from NJ
Hello everyone, my name is A.J. and I am from NJ. Hoping to be a new kilt owner soon, and found you all through google when looking for a cheap jacket to wear with a kilt for a wedding I have on Oct. 30, and one in November.
I am also a rugby player, and was looking for something to wear after a game to hit the bar in and have seen people in kilts pretty often and have been wanting one for a while.
I am going to go Sportkilt for my first, as i needed something I can clean easily, but hope to add to the collection and be "My uncle that wears the kilt all the time" to my niece and nephew.
Here is to many kilts, drinks, and good times in the future.

from due east of you.
You'll find lots of information on these forums, but while a sportskilt will probably be grand for kicking around after rugby matches, it probably won't do for a formal even like a wedding. Maybe you want to consider hiring a kilt for that? Though for the price of two rentals, you could quite likely own a very nice kilt. Take a look around here, you'll find no lack of advice, reviews, and the like.

Welcome from Michigan! Look at USAKilts casual line, not much more than a Sportkilt, but a higher quality kilt. I have a semi-trad from USA and it is worn more often than any other kilt that I own, with my 5 yd casual from Scotweb a close second.

Where in NJ do you live? I would suggest that you just rent a kilt jacket from a Celtic store if only you are using it for a wedding. I do know that there are two Celtic stores in Smithville, NJ that you could contact to see if they rent kilts or jackets. Welcome. Slainte
