So far I have 10 pairs of Brewin hose 2 of which I have worn threw the heels of. I started wearing kilts just over a year ago and wear one every day. I'm fairly hard on socks always have been. I treat Brewin socks like any other, I wash them all together on cold water and even send them in the dryer on the coldest of warm settings.

In colder weather I layer my socks with wool boot socks and my brewin hose over them helps with added warmth and really makes a sgian dubh hide better. I'm now to the point of looking for some heavier kilt hose for nicer occasions but up till now have got along great with my cheap hose.

If you do buy them I recomend going to their site and getting a bundle price saves per hose price and gives you abreak on shipping. For the price they cant be beat.

    Wool.

Your personal thermostat may run differently, particularly in how your calves feel in the heat. My feet are always happiest in wool, with very high quality technical/athletic blends a close second.
