I bought one of his American National tartan kilts and I love it! Called him on a Monday, and had the kilt on that Friday. Really enjoyed talking with Graeme on the phone and listening to some of his great advice. Even on the phone, he's one of those guys you just wish you could hang out with for a while.

    Great guy...wishing him the best.

Greeme is all that and more! When one goes to his store, if you he invites you to have some tea, don't expect to get out of there in less than two hours!

The late Retro Red once told me, you'll never go wrong following Graeme's advice. You might not always like it, but it will be honest and true. He will be greatly missed!

I have purchased a custom made German Heritage kilt from him and tomorrow will be picking up an American National.

Let me also chime in about Graeme and his excellence for service. A few weeks back, I was e-mailing Graeme back and forth about what sgian dubhs and kilt pins he had available for purchase. Graeme was very responsive to my requests. He sent me photos of his inventory. I also talked to him over the phone. I mentioned to him I was new at “kilting.” Graeme talked with me a great length about kilts and all the nuances that go along with purchasing and wearing a kilt. As a novice, I really appreciated his advice and guidance! This is true service!

If I had the cash I'd absolutely be going for an American National! Beautiful Kilt.

Tell him that I send my very best wishes for his journey home and good luck to his family.

I'm very happy with mine. My first "real" wool kilt! I'm waiting until I finish the belt and sporran for pics, though.

Though the kilt is an ex-rental, it's still REALLY nice. I don't know the weight, but it's a House of Edgar kilt, (a big plus). It has one sort of wider strap on each side rather than the two, (or even three), I typically see. I think I like it better that way. And, as the American National is sort of a hard tartan to find, I think I got a great deal here. Graeme got the size just right as well...the man knows his stuff!...

The guy at that shop (Mr. Niven) is amazing to work with. The fellow really knows his stuff. I got a Scotland the Brave handstitched 13oz 8 yard two buckle with matching flashes from him and it was gorgeous. I have since also ordered a Sutherland Muted. I feel bad for him and his family right now and I sincerely pray that all will be well with them soon, but these kilts for those prices? Wow.

    Hugh

P.S. He was also more than willing to be of service for any questions and helpful pointers that I may have needed. It's a shame that a guy like that has to close down. Great customer service like that is hard to find.
