9 Days Kilted ....
or 9 days without trousers!
I am on holiday in British Columbia Canada with my wife. We are here for Thanksgiving on Monday 11 Oct.
So we decided that this should be an all kilt holiday. No jeans, no trousers etc.
First was the airport .... wore mt new denim kilt from AltKilt. No probs at security. Only comment was from one of the security people who asked where my bagpipes were. Haha! He then said that he actually has seen more and more kilted guys traveling than ever before.
A few odd (if you want to call them that) looks around and using the men's lavatory. These where usually followed by a look that said 'oh okay'.
At the car rental place a hispanic guy who the counter attendant questioned me, asking in somewhat hushed tones "Can I ask you a question. Are you from, what is that country....." I replied Scotland and 'no, I'm not'. He then asked 'so why are you wearing one' I explained the comfort factor and that I liked them, and that my wife liked them, and 'Los kilts estan por las chicas como cat-nip estan por los gatitos.' To which he replied 'cool'.
At the motel we stayed at an older black gentleman saw me return the keys at check-out and yelled 'Nice kilt, man! and gave me a thumbs up.
Going to go to a farmers market today in my denim, then and to Mass tonight in my black kilt and then wear a tartan for thanksgiving meal tomorrow (a day early).
I will provide pictures as I can
Staying kilted
Tony

It's great isn't it, Tony, when one kilted day just flows into the next. Wishing you nothing but positive experiences for the whole 9 days.
Regards

So far so good on kilted day three.
Wore the denim to the Kelowna Farmer's Market. Looks of fine comments there. The we headed to Walmart so I could buy some goodies that I needed to bake a pumpkin cheesecake tonight. While walking from the care a young boy pointed at me and sad 'Look mum, why is that boy wearing a skirt'. I looked at him and said 'Laddie its a kilt not a skirt, and warriors in Scotland used to wear them' and a made a swipe at the air as if I had sword. His mum said to him, 'You know, like in Braveheart'. That got him! He'll be kilted some day!
Wore my black kilt to Mass tonight here in Kelowna.
Tomorrow will be an early Thanksgiving dinner. I'll be in a tartan then

Good on ya'!
Although I must admit to a twinge of jealousy. My first kilt has just been ordered and I must wait for a bit. Maybe my next vacation can be kilted.
I wish I believed in reincarnation. Where's Charles Martel when you need him?

Keep it going, Tony!
And that was a good response to the little boy – and his mother backed you up, too. Sure we’ll see him in a kilt in due course.

Mike

If you're in Kelowna, you might take in a hockey game kilted as well!! Enjoy the Thanksgiving celebration. I love the comment to the young one. He'll think about that for a long time…..

Been on 2 cruises wearing a Kilt the whole time, with the exception of the bikini speedo under it at the ships pool and to the beach at the ports. Going on another in a few weeks.
