    Amazing work!

May I ask of what material the bolsters are made?

They are 415ss. When ever I get the chance I prefer to work in stainless. The pins are also 416. 303 is also stainless but if the customer wished to have engraving he will have an easier time with 416 over 303.

Wellllllll, it didn't get done in time for the Ball. Just looked at it Friday night and realized that to get it done in time I would have to rush and that's when mistakes happen. So I figured it was better to wait and take my time. Should be done in the next couple days.

That is sweet. I'll need to get one like that for more formal wear one of these years. It would go great with the green in my Livingston kilt.

    And the grand fainale

Let's start this off that the changes I made were at suggestions that only re-enforced what I was already waffling about. I didn't take any of them as complaints.

Here is the finished polished from the front -

    From the back -

And the final blade. Since the comments on pattern of the damascus made me think of lessening the contrast. So I buffed the blade and did a touch up with some sand paper. Now the pattern is more subdued -

If Matt is ok it's headed to him for a fund raiser.

Now that piece is one work of art! Congratulations Drac. Love the colours, with the stainless steel and damascus.

It can now be revealed. . .

The kauri-handle model came out from under the Christmas tree for my Bob (bigdad1)! He absolutely loves it and has been showing it off to every holiday visitor.

We will get some pictures of this beautiful sgian in situ and post in a separate thread. Jim, thank you again for creating this one-of-a-kind piece. Please let us know if you get to San Diego, so Bob can "meet his maker" (so to speak!).
