Thanks for sharing Matt, great pictures. Anyone else have some shots to share?

I have a couple more shots to throw in. Please forgive the fact that I'm in most of these; my lovely girlfriend (and fellow STM volunteer and bonnet maker) Abby was the photographer, and I suspect that she likes taking pictures of me.

At any rate, we all had a great time at Stone Mountain this year, and doing the tartan info booth was a blast as usual. I can't believe that I missed the XMarks meet-up both days, but it was great to see the handful of rabble that made it by the STM tent to say hello.

It was great seeing our new friends, Johnathan (shawhighlander) and Emily, again.

Here's the obligatory father and son parking lot shot. My dad has been volunteering with the STM at Stone Mountain for years. Also note that, out of the kindness of my heart, I lent him my new Artificer bag for the day.

Here's me and Abigail; she's sporting a hat of her make, knit exactly like a man's bonnet, but blocked differently to give a girlie look.

...and here's little Maddie again, just because she's so darn cute.

I will add a few to the album for posterity's sake, although I did not take a whole lot, and have none of me since Wife stayed home not feeling well.

First, the STM tent with the Clan Newsome contingent and Turpin present representing Clan Gordon, my obligatory picture of little Madeline (everybody has to have one, right?).

The Xmarks members gathering near the Clan Gordon tent on Saturday afternoon. I am terrible remembering names so feel free to label yourselves and others you recognize by name.

The Clan Forrester tent, where I met some long, long lost relatives, my clan, for the first time.

Good stuff, all! Keep them coming.
    Maddie IS a real cutie.
Ryan, is that the new bonnet colour you're sporting? It looks great.

Let me see how my memory is...from Left to Right we have: (my apologies in advance if I mis-identify anyone)

cavscout, kiltedsawyer(?), ForesterModern, Tyger, Turpin, MacKay71(?), Shawhighlander, Leprechaun-91

Atlanta Kiltie was present but had to get to a performance of the Athol Highlanders before we snapped the pic, and I also caught site of Southern Scot and Cawdorian over at the Lamont tent.

It was nice to reacquaint with old friends and meet ForesterModern (aka Jeff). I hope you enjoyed your time in Georgia.

Jim Kilpatrick, Julia Grant-Adams, Colin Grant-Adams, and myself.

    Hawk Talk.

Young clan member who competed this weekend.

    Holding court.

I have a copy of George Black's Surnames Of Scotland with a "Looking For Ancestors?" sign to lure people towards the tent. Works very well.

I'm not a participating Country Dance fan but I know several people who are. Rhonda gave me a head's up this year about a new dance written by two serving Colquhouns in the Black Watch called The Kandahar Reel.

The dance imitates the rotors on medivac helicopters. Half the proceeds of music sales go to ABF The Soldier's Charity. You can Google The Kandahar Reel for more information and to see it performed on youtube.

I'll post some more pictures I took on a film camera later if they came out OK.

It's nice to see an active Colquhoun group, MacBubba45! Down here, there usually isn't a Colquhoun presence at all, or it's one lonely little table that doesn't get any visitors (except me).

Thanks for the info on the Kandahar Reel. I'm gonna look that one up for sure.
