As I said Ern, each to their own.

Aye, John. But if the kilt has them; how best to use them. It does come down to personal peference. Chris's post with Hamish's pic clears it up for me.

This still looks odd to me!

But, what is odd today might become the norm tomorrow and I'm okay with that.

I'm glad this thread got bumped back up. I was kilted over the weekend, and decided to leave my belt loops unused. That was a mistake.

My belt would not stay where it was supposed to be. Every time I would bend in the middle (especially when sitting), the belt would slip up over the top of my kilt in the back. And when standing straight and walking around, it would tend to slip down in both the front and back.

It was terribly annoying and I was constantly fidgeting with it to make it stay put. It was like having a wardrobe malfunction that just would not stop! From now on, I don't care if it's technically 'incorrect' to use the belt loops. I'm gonna use 'em anyway because it just doesn't make any practical sense not to.
