Deer hide sporran
Here a sporran I made. I had some questions about how to attach the hair-on deer hide. I received a few very helpful suggestions here:http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...an-help-61949/
That link also shows some WIP pics. This thing took almost a week to complete. I worked on it 2-4 hours every night. It should not have taken that long, but I wanted to get everything just right and not just "good'nuf". I did not have too much of a plan other than the shape. All in all, I am happy with how it turned out.
The particulars: I utilized the parts of 2 deer(hair and lining) 1 cow(front and back of sporran body) 1 kangaroo (gusset, edging) and 1 horse (hair tassles).
Here are some more pics of it..

Tassle WIP
Here is a WIP of the horse hair tassles I made for it.
Get a small bundle of hair and tie it in the middle.
Attach a thong to the middle of the bundle. I sewed in a loop to make it secure.
Bring the ends of the bundle together and wrap the bend tightly. I also wrapped the thong where it was sewn.
I used leather as the "bell" to go over the hair. I may look around for something a little better, but this works for now.

Quite nice, and I'm really impressed with your step-by-step photos. I do have one tiny comment, though.
Your kilt pin is on upside down. The clasp goes at the bottom, to keep from loosing the pin if it should accidentally come undone.

Excellent work! You wear it well. Enjoy!
