Need help finding someone who works with pewter
This one has me stumped...I've poked around Google, and I'm just this side of the phone call line. I'm trying to find someone who does pewter sculpture, and would be willing & interested to take on a custom request.
To be honest, I haven't the faintest idea where to find someone like this...artists aren't exactly listed in the yellow pages by medium, or so it seems...it's not nearly as easy as finding steel yards or auto parts.
If anyone has a lead on someone who'd consider a custom request, please post or send a PM!

What are you trying to have made? The size of the piece in question will help determine who might be available to work on it.
Small things could be done by a skilled custom jeweler, larger items, or things heavier than a few pounds will need more of a 'shop' facility.
Also, will this person be creating an original piece, or will they be recasting a piece that you've already designed and made?
This will also affect who is qualified to help you.

Cantle, non-functional. Though my searching so far seems to indicate I may as well be looking for an education in black magic, someone to translate the Rosetta Stone from memory, or the second gunman on the grassy knoll.

Most likely original, but I'm not familiar with how the process works, so if recasting means someone creates a positive in some medium, then a mold is taken to create the negative, then the medium is poured, then potentially recasting...but there again lies problem that I don't know anyone who does anything like that or would consider doing it (that I'm aware of). At the very least, I need a sculptor, and the end result requires a facility that can cast the piece.

You won't know unless you ask. I wouldn't have posted the info, if I wasn't familiar with his work.

I understand that the decision has been made so this is just a general comment. I might be possible to find an "artist" at you local college or school of art that would be willing to take on the project as a class project or the experience. Many art departments of local colleges are multi-discipline and may have a metal working course.
If someone in the current class is not available the metal instructor may know someone from prior classes that would be able to do what you are looking for.

If you see abbreviations, initials or acronyms you do not know the Xmarks FAQ section on abbreviations may help.
