I really like the Hunting MacPherson, and also the red MacPherson in weathered colors, either of which would look great with a lovat blue jacket.

But if you are considering the Carolina tartan, then yes we do have a bit left in stock from our last run in historic Wilson of Bannockburn colors. It is the 16oz worsted listed here:
    http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/carolina_items.html

You can either buy the yard good via the link above or if you want to purchase the kilt direct from us, you can do so here:
    http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/kiltpage.html

As we already have the cloth woven in stock, the price would be that listed as the 16oz "rare" category, not the custom weave.

Here I am in my Carolina kilt.

A few other members here also have Carolina kilts. You can search the site, but here's one image of David Pope in his at last year's Greenville SC highland games.

Yikes! Thanks for that link to STA. This blind olde geezer had to haul his MacPherson Hunting out into the sunlight to see that there IS blue in the tartan too.

I hadn't thought of a weathered Macpherson. I'll need to ponder that. As you guessed, Richard, the one I have is the modern red.

Mathew, thanks for the photos of the Carolina tartan. That is a good looking tartan.

It's a big decision, but fortunately I'm not in a hurry.

I think MY favorite macPherson (and kelly's as well as she has a kilt in the cloth) is the MacPherson MUTED from Strathmore:
