    Unkilted, bored, cold and miserable

Sorry folks to give a title such as this, but I'm sitting at work bored stiff, even the view out of the window is limited, normally I can see the Campsie Hills on a clear day but its dull and cloudy outside, no decent view.
Nevertheless I'm heading off to Lanzarote at the end of this month for a bit of winter sun and a warmer climate, unfortunately, I will miss St.Andrews night celebrations here in Scotland, unlike St. Patrick Day, St. Andrews Day is'nt celebrated as much abroad particularly in Europe.

So nothing exciting happening, no kilt nights or events coming up, just cold weather and dark nights.

As i have said before and quite a few x-markers have said that the summer spoils us for wearing the kilt at so many outdoor events and walking kilted during warm summer evenings

Hi, Jimmy – sorry to learn that you are miserable. The sunny climes of Lanzarote ought to perk you up considerably.
And even if St Andrew’s Day is not observed in France, there’s nothing to stop you from being kilted on the day (or any other day!).
    Regards,
    Mike

Lucky you Jimmy going off to the sunshine of Lanzarote, a warm and kilt friendly island.
For me it is the start of four months hibernation although I will be doing some part-time driving work within the south of Scotland over the winter and will be able to wear the kilt for some jobs.
I have no more fun trips planned until Vancouver in March - roll on spring!

I just love this time of year! The shooting season, log fires, the Hunting(horse and hounds) season, suppers, lunches and dinners with friends, the countryside resting, views that have been obscured by leaves on the trees now visable, the promise of spring. Oh yes, bring it on. Mind you after 5 months of it, summer does have its attractions!

Roger that! I'm always ready for winter after the long hot humid summers here. However, come March, I'm ready for a warmup and summer again.

Learn to knit, and tote your work around with you. You need never be bored if you are handy with sticks and string.
