LOL! Did that last week!
Fall here on the Gulf coast is just summer MkII, it can be in the 50s in the morning, then get up to 90 by afternoon. It's when people make the transition from gripes about how hot it is all the time, to gripes about how 'cold' it is in the morning.
At the renfaire last weekend, it was about 60 degrees in the morning, heading to about 85 by lunchtime. I was grumbling that I wished it would be cooler! But this fellow in jeans and a hoodie with his hands stuffed in his pockets like he's freezing asks me "aren't you cold in that?" in a real condescending way. I just said "No, I've got like 21 feet of wool wrapped around my butt, how are those jeans treating you?"

One of my funniest encounters was last winter. I was in our building cafeteria and a woman asked me "Aren't you cold from the draft?" I smiled and replied, "You're wearing a dress, so what do you think?" After a brief startled moment, she laughed and said something like "That was a stupid question to ask wasn't it?"

I love the temperature comments! They always make me chuckle. In the summer, people ask me "Aren't you hot in that?" In the winter, it's always "Aren't you freezing in that?" MAKE UP YOUR MINDS, PEOPLE!! Am I roasting or freezing?!?!
...I'm so confused...

I spent all say today kilted and had many positive comments and smiles. Went to a Eastern Star bazaar and then to the zoo with my daughter and her Rainbow Girl Assembly (I always wear my kilt to Rainbow events). Had a great day except one older woman, who should have known better, called the kilt a skirt.
