A Day At The Races: Breeder's Cup kiltie caught on camera several times
Kilted up for a day at Churchill Downs (site of the Kentucky Derby) for the International Breeder's Cup Race Series and got entered into the men's division of a fashion show, male and female winners each taking home $5000 for their efforts. Got photoed by a dozen or so reporters, ESPN cameramen, and local news, as well as photo ops with head judge Bo Derek (of the movie "10" fame), and getting stopped dozens of time for photos with other race fans. The Power of the Kilt.

Unfortunately took second place in men's division (I believe that was a "place" in horse parlance) but still got the wife a $100 gift card to a local high end clothiers store.
Got cold enough to see your breath for most of the day and evening, but even kilted the only thing that got cold on me was my hands, mostly because of the wind. My coldest day in a kilt and I was otherwise quite cozy in a 16 oz tank, diced hose, tweed argyll, and balmoral.

Good for you. Always love the IOS. After viewing all the photos in the Facebook album, you were the best dressed.

Good show Jeff. I especially like the caption under the photo "No men in tights, but we did find this gent in a kilt and he looks very dapper in this tradional Scottish ensemble."

Isle of Skye, second place! Must have been a rigged contest. You sure look dapper though and what a great statement for the kilt as a high fashion garment.

Sorry, being in front of the camera made it hard for me to be behind the camera taking pictures with Bo Derek, and my friends were all too busy betting races to come be my photographer. I still haven't found any collection of the many photos that were taken, and the only ones posted were of the winners with Bo (I was just out of the picture on that one).
I have a brief video clip from the broadcast of me kilted in the grandstands (seems the announcers thought I was truly scottish as they were mentioning the many international horse people present as they showed me in the stands). Trying to figure out how to get it out of the DVR and into a format I can post.
