Greetings from Mid-Missouri!
hmmm...This is where I'm supposed to tell you a bit about me. Although it wouldn't surprise me to find a sprinkle of Scot in me, I'm mostly German, French, & Irish. My husband is Scot & Irish tho. His last name is Beatty, and his mother's maiden name is Murphy, so I'm pretty sure he qualifies!
A long, long time ago, my husband took me to Scotland and I fell in love. I think the highlands are about as close to heaven as you can get. Although we live in mid-Missouri, I still harbor dreams about retiring to the highlands.
I was looking for a good sock pattern on Ravelry (for knitters, crocheters, etc.) and found a beautiful kilt hose pattern. When I showed the hose to my husband, he decided he wanted a pair, and again mentioned that he'd like a utilikilt.
I read the hose pattern, and it mentioned the x-kilt (thanks Alan H!), which led me here!! I'm not sure about knitting the kilt hose (new to sock knitting), but I know I can handle the x-kilt.
At any rate, I just found XMTS recently and have really enjoyed what I've seen. As a dyed-in-the-wool do-it-yourselfer, I've found all sorts of things here that I'm itching to try!! Thanks for having me here!!
