Hi, Tenire, and welcome to X Marks from the bottom end of Africa.
Your reluctance to wear clan tartan is understandable, but don’t let that put you off wearing tartan at all.
There are any number of district tartans – for parts of Scotland, for Scotland as a whole, for North America, for the US, and for parts of the US.
For that matter, one of the nicest tartans from the US is the Texas Blue Bonnet, to which you are automatically entitled as a Texan.
Give it a try!
Regards,
Mike

I did some asking around at TRF and I'm gonna ask some more at other places, but I think you may be on to something there!!. From what I've heard so far, the Texas Blue Bonnet is a hard tartan to come by. This just MIGHT get expensive.

THAT sounds like a blast!!! I'm likely to ship out to Afghanistan in the coming year, but I'll certainly come hang out with you folks. Right now I'm kinda planning my next kilt. Desert Tan is sounding really good, or perhaps something in Digital Camo.
