Not a turn, but a formal way of standing. Also, nothing else about the photo or his posture suggests the sharp movement you indicate. Hope that helps.

Perhaps it was an intentional 'moon' to express the general displeasure of handing over a chunk of land to 'the other guy'

    same planet, different worlds

And the two things I thought of looking at that great picture were: (1) I wish I had thighs that look like that, that could withstand public exposure to a strong gust o wind up the kilt; and (2) how awful the shaving might have been in preparation for the body paint!

This particular incident was an accident, but an ex-corporal of the RHR told me there were other moves afoot to give the Reds the answer to "the question".

Todd is right on the money, as usual. Cheers!

Not if you want trousers to fit properly, you don't. I'VE got great huge frog legs like that (lots of swimming and biking as a young'un) and nothing fits properly.

Add in a +8" drop between jacket and trouser size (and it used to be worse, when I was at my 'fighting weight' it was +11") it means that nearly EVERY off the peg suit fits in the most grotesque way either on top, bottom or both.

When you factor in 18" calves, 26" thighs, a 35" waist, ~43" chest and 17.5" arms and neck, not a whole lot fits. After a certain point, you're better off having suits made, since every alteration adds $$ to the cost of an off the peg.

It's not like I'm even all that fit anymore, it's quite frustrating in it's way.

Sounds like the proper plan of action for the enlisted men, it would have had my full "just don't tell me about it endorsement.

Painted undergarments? Very creative, but probably painful to "take off". Praise the Lord it was of the back-side, as that situation could go from PG to NC-17 real fast.

Also my partner had his kilt blown in similar fashion when a tube train and an overground train pulled into an underground station in London. He was quite a way from the platforms on the second flight of steps, when the incident happened and took a round of applause for appreciative travelers.
I wonder why someone would applause to accidental flashing. As funny as that could be, I nonetheless appreciate the fact that clothes are worn by 99.999% of humans; nothing is worse than "seeing" people unsolicited.

I seriously doubt it was the skin they were applauding. This was a kilt, after all, not Latoya Jackson's boob, or whoever it was that flashed a nip during a Superbowl show a while back.
